Travelers watching polar bears from a Polar Rover on the tundra

Conservation through exploration

The world's premier polar bear destination

Churchill, Manitoba is one of Canada's best-known places to watch polar bears in the wild. Each October and November, bears gather on the Hudson Bay shore outside town waiting for the sea ice to form, and our tundra vehicles put you among them safely — open-air viewing decks, small groups and an Expedition Leader who reads bear behaviour for a living.

Alongside our own polar bear trips, this site explains the practical side of a journey north: when the season peaks, how travellers reach Churchill, what a day on the tundra involves, and what else there is to see once the light goes.
